Air India advisory for USA bound Indian students

The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Tuesday released the details of the second phase of the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ to repatriate Indians stranded abroad due to the coronavirus lockdown protocols world over.

National carrier Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express operated 31 flights in the first five days of the mission and have brought back 6,037 Indians from 12 countries amid the coronavirus lockdown, MoCA said earlier today.

The announcement of the second phase of this operation was imperative given the large Indian diaspora residing abroad for work, studies and contractual labour.

As per the new order, the national carrier will operate 149 flights to 31 countries to bring back thousands more from May 16-22.

Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Kyrgyzsthan’, Armenia, Nigeria, Belarus are among the countries that have been included in the second list.
